St Paul’s Convent, Birmingham
Halligan Consulting Engineers (Halligans) was brought in to undertake full design of mechanical and electrical (M&E) services for St Paul’s Convent, Selly Oak, Birmingham. Services spanned heating, ventilation, hot and cold-water distribution, public health services, electrical installations including lighting, small power distribution, and fire alarms.
The projects saw the refurbishment of an existing building to provide two floors of ensuite bedrooms and communal spaces for Catholic nuns. All redundant services had to be stripped out, taken back to the incoming point within the building and new services extended to serve the revised layout. Halligans delivered a complete M&E design and brought subcontractors to deliver installation following a tender process.
All quality checks were conducted by Halligans and, upon completion, the team carried out a full inspection before sign-off.
